What We Do

Once we receive your referral, we will contact the business owner and introduce ourselves. We want to show them exactly the savings we can provide, so we will ask for copies of their recent processing statement(s). We will use that information to provide a side-by-side analysis of their entire fee structure (not just their percentage “discount rate”), comparing what they’re paying now to what they’ll be paying with us, along with the resulting savings.

For each referred business that signs up with us, you receive a BV reward every month for as long as they stay with us. You get a full 40% of Payroc’s profit on each account as BV. Example: If Payroc makes $100, you get 40 BV. If Payroc makes $1000, you get 400 BV!

A referred business cannot be another Unfranchise, but it can be an outside business owned by you or another UFO.

Who is Payroc?

Payroc, LLC, headquartered in Illinois, is one of the largest merchant service providers in the US. We also service Canada and 45+ additional markets. We have over 100,000 clients and process over $36 billion per year.

Payroc provides credit, debit, and gift card processing services (i.e., merchant accounts) to all sizes and varieties of businesses. iTransact became part of Payroc in 2016; our accounts for Market America UnFranchise Owners are called iTransact accounts. Our accounts for all other businesses are simply called Payroc merchant accounts.

What is my reward for referring business?

You can receive ongoing monthly residual rewards for referring non-Market America businesses to Payroc. For each referral we successfully activate, you will receive 40% of Payroc’s profit from the merchant account. For example, if Payroc profits $100, you receive 40 BV. If Payroc profits $1000, you receive 400 BV. This is a residual reward, so you receive these BV amounts every month. Everyone in your upline receives the BV as well.

How much BV can I get?

The monthly rewards we are currently paying on referred businesses range from a few BV to over 1000 BV, based on Payroc’s profit from each merchant account. Payroc’s profit varies widely based on many factors: business type, size, volume, transaction size, transaction method, etc., as well as how low we need to cut our margins to obtain the business.

One example: On a medium-sized business processing $50k in credit card transactions per month, we usually profit $100-$300 per month; if we do, the reward is 40-120 BV per month, every month. (As you would expect, the bigger the business, the bigger the rewards.)

More importantly, like everything else in this business, it’s a numbers game; the more merchants you refer, the more we’ll sign up, and the more rewards you’ll receive. And you’ll receive 0 BV on the merchants you don’t refer.

How do I know how much BV I am earning?

When is my BV earned and placed?
The merchant billing process results in a gap between processing and rewards. For example, a merchant is billed for their JANUARY processing during FEBRUARY. Then, during MARCH, Payroc receives our residuals and reports the BV rewards to MA. Our reporting of the BV rewards occurs by the 20th of the month, after which it may take a few days for MA to post the BV.
How / where is the BV placed?
The BV is placed through the “BV Autoplacement” mechanism, which you specify in your Unfranchise back office.
Why do I need an iTransact account of my own?

Simply put, you’ll sell more product. Market America’s top retailers have iTransact accounts. The benefits of having iTransact for your UnFranchise:

  1. For your Shop.com website: When you have iTransact and someone purchases MA products on your website, their payment and their order information go to directly to you. That means you get to choose whether you want Market America to drop-ship the order or if you want to deliver it from your inventory. You also get to choose where and when to place the BV.
  2. For in-person sales: With the iTransact mobile app, you can take card payments anytime, anywhere, for your Market America products, trainings, and even extra tickets to upcoming events. You can also use the iTransact Virtual Terminal to enter payments on your computer for new or recurring sales.
What is the difference between iTransact "MA Pro" and MA Lite"?
In practical terms, just the pricing. Prior to 2013, the only kind of iTransact account available to UFOs came with a monthly service fee. Those monthly-fee accounts came to be called MA Pro because they included some features unavailable on the MA Lite accounts. That’s no longer the case. If you still have a MA Pro account (i.e., if you are still paying a monthly service fee), you’d be better off opening a MA Lite account – but then remember to close your MA Pro account because it’s not closed automatically.
How long does my iTransact setup take? How will I know when it's done?
After signup, your account will be activated within 24-48 hours. You will receive an email congratulating you on your new account and providing your iTransact Gateway ID (GID).
What do I do when someone orders Market America products through my shop.com website?
A key advantage to having an iTransact account is that your customers’ orders (and payments) go directly to you, like they would if you had accepted cash or a check. With each order, you have the advantage of being able to choose: Do you want to fill the order from your existing inventory, or do you want Market America to drop-ship the order for you? To have Market America fill the order, go to your Unfranchise.com back office; your orders are displayed there. Select the order and click “Send Order to Market America”; Market America will ship the products to your customer and charge you your UFO cost.
What do I do when someone orders partner store products through my shop.com website?
Nothing! Since Partner Store sales are made by each Partner Store, not by you, you do not collect payment or deliver product in these cases, and the Partner Store sales are not listed in your iTransact transaction listing.
How do I process card payments in person or over the phone?

For in-person payments, use the mobile app. You can get it in either the App Store (Apple devices) or Google Play Store (Android devices) by searching “Market America Shop.com”

The mobile app allows you to type in your customer’s card number, or to read the card’s EMV chip or magnetic stripe using an optional card reader.

For in-person or over-the phone payments, you may also use the Virtual Terminal, which is available in your Control Panel.

How and when do I receive my money?
Funds from credit card sales are deposited into your checking account approximately 2-3 business days after your customer’s payment is made. (Business days are Monday-Friday, not including bank holidays.) Note that if you choose to have Market America drop-ship an order for you, they will charge you your UFO cost immediately for the order, so you may want to wait 2-3 days before sending the order to MA, or keep enough extra money in your checking account to cover the gap.
How and when do I pay for my iTransact account?

At the time of your signup, you pay for your first year of service ($100) with a credit or debit card. Subsequent years ($59) will be billed to the same card, so if your card number or expiration date changes, be sure to let us know. (You purchase a full year of service at a time, but you can cancel at any time if you don’t wish to renew for additional years.)

At the beginning of each month, we will tabulate the transaction fees for your previous month’s sales. These fees, together with Market America’s Cashback and Link-off amounts*, will be billed to your checking account around the 10th of the month. (This is the same checking account into which your customers’ payments are deposited.)

Can I use iTransact to sell non-Market America items?
Your iTransact account is approved for the sale of Market America products (including nutraMetrix and Motives products), but not unrelated items. If you would like to sell products and services that are outside of Market America, we can help you can set up a separate merchant account.
How do BV and IBV work with iTransact orders?

You receive residual BV rewards by referring businesses to Payroc. (See the subsequent questions for details.)

When you have an iTransact account, BV and IBV from your own sales work the same way as always: Your Market America product sales earn BV, and Partner Store sales earn IBV. One of the advantages to having an iTransact account is that you can place your BV in any of your business centers on a sale-by-sale basis (rather than having it automatically go into Autoplacement), and you can control the timing of your BV placement (by opting to delay sending an order to MA).

How do Cashback Rewards and Link-Off Fees work with iTransact orders?

Payroc/iTransact does not assess cashback amounts or link-off fees, but if you have an iTransact account, we collect them from you and relay them to MA. Here’s how it works:

Cashback (Paid-to-Shop) rewards:

When your customers buy Market America products on your Shop.com website, they may receive cashback rewards (often 2-3% of the product price) that they can redeem on future purchases. If you do not have an iTransact account, MA funds these reward amounts by deducting them from your sales profits. When you do have iTransact, you receive the full transaction amounts, and then the reward amounts are billed to you.

When your customers redeem their cashback amounts on future purchases, the amounts are deposited to your account on file at Market America.

When Market America lists promotional items with a high cashback percentage (say, 30% instead of 3%), you do not fund the rewards on these items. Instead, these special purchases bypass you and your iTransact account; they are transacted and shipped directly by Market America.

Link-off fees:

If a customer reaches your Shop.com website by linking from a search engine or online advertisement, MA assesses a link-off fee for driving this business to you. If you do not have an iTransact account, MA collects this fee by deducting it from your sales profits. When you do have iTransact, we collect the fee for MA.

Billing:

When you have iTransact, your MA cashback rewards and link-off fees are billed together with your iTransact transaction fees, which are drawn from your checking account once per month.

Note that the cashback and link-off amounts are exactly the same whether or not you have iTransact; the difference is the way they’re collected.

How do I change the checking account linked to my iTransact account?

Your iTransact account is linked to a checking account of your choice for deposit of your customers’ payments and withdrawal of your fees.

How do I change my contact email address that iTransact uses?

Please use the Account Settings interface in the Control Panel. To do this, log into the Transaction Control Panel and select “Account Settings.”

What about fraud?

It is unlikely that you will receive a fraudulent order through your iTransact account, but as a merchant accepting credit cards, you need to be aware that there are some dishonest people out there. There are some features in place to help you deal with them:

If someone attempts to order from you using a card that (a) has been reported lost or stolen, (b) is blocked by the card-issuing bank, and/or (c) does not have enough available credit on it to complete the purchase, the transaction will not succeed and you will not receive the order.

All orders are run through an Address Verification System (AVS) to determine whether or not the address the customer provided matches the information on file with his/her card issuer. The AVS response is included in your transaction confirmation email as well as in the transaction listing in your Control Panel. Please pay attention to the AVS response and use it to help determine whether you want to ship product. If you’d like, iTransact can automatically void all orders for which the address does not match; please contact us to arrange this.

You will receive all customers’ information as entered (e.g., address, phone, and email address) and are always welcome to contact them for additional information.

If you ever receive an order from someone you are suspicious of (or choose not to do business with), you are not required to ship product. You can return the payment by voiding or crediting it back through the transaction listing in your Control Panel.
